The Turku Court of Appeal began its second trip to Monrovia by watching the recording of Defense 04’s testimony before the lower court.
Defense documentaireevidence is examined
The Court examined various new pieces of documentary evidence presented by the defense. The first piece of evidence was a news piece from 12 January 2003 discussing the second round of Paramount Chief elections in Gallinas-Perry. The second piece of evidence was an annex to Corinne Dufka’s police interview. Based on a request from the Finnish police, Corinne Dufka had written down some names from her notebook of commanders of government forces present in Lofa. The third piece of evidence was a letter signed by Massaquoi on 17 August 2001 at the RUF headquarters in Makeni. The defense also referred to a piece of documentary evidence presented during an earlier session in relation to Background 1’s testimony of his experiences in Klay.

The prosecution also presented an additional piece of documentary evidence, the work certificates of Employee 1 mentioned in his testimony.
